Ayr United have ended their former player’s Andy Millen’s break from the game by bringing the former St. Mirren and Queen of the South assistant manager to the Somerset Park club as a coach.
The 47-year-old had a long playing career with 10 clubs that looked to have ended at Paisley when he was the oldest player to have featured in a SPL game aged 42 years and 279 days. However aged over 45 Millen turned out for Queen’s Park as a player after a brief spell working with Billy Reid at Hamilton Accies.
Millen left Palmerston just over a year ago when McPherson left office IN Dumfries and he had a short spell working with Jim Weir that ended last November.
Ayr player/ boss Mark Roberts said: “I am delighted to bring Andy here as his experience will be invaluable to us. He will be a great help to me and our players.”
