Berwick Rangers are through to the second round of the Petrofac Training Cup, beating Queen's Park 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw on Friday night.
Darren Lavery fired the visitors ahead at the Excelsior Stadium after just three minutes but Ross McPherson equalised before half-time.
Neither side could conjure up a winner and the Spiders held on despite having Shaun Fraser sent off for a second yellow card early in extra time.
The first six penalties in the shoot-out were all converted but Vinnie Berry sent his effort over the top, Scott Dalziel edged Berwick ahead and Billy Bald saved from Tony Quinn.
There are 14 ties in the Petrofac Training Cup on Saturday, with the draw for round two taking place on Tuesday afternoon.
