Betfred Cup group stage fixtures

The Betfred Cup group stage fixtures and TV selections have now been confirmed, with six matches to be shown live on BT Sport...

The 2019/20 Betfred Cup kicks off on Friday July 12 when Heart of Midlothian host Dundee United at Tynecastle, live on BT Sport at 7.45pm.

The eight group winners and four best runners-up progress to the last 16 where they are joined by European qualifiers Celtic, Rangers, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.  

The draw for the last 16 will be made on Sunday July 28, following BT Sport’s coverage of Dundee v Inverness Caledonian Thistle, with ties to be played on the weekend of August 17/18.

Format
The group stage uses the traditional three points for a win and one point for a draw model but all drawn matches go straight to a penalty shoot-out, with the winner awarded a bonus point.
