BETFRED CUP SEMI-FINAL: HIBERNIAN'S KEY PLAYERS

The men who could make the difference for the Hibees on Saturday...

We asked A View From the Terrace's Craig Fowler to give us his three key players from each of the weekend's Betfred Cup semi-finalists, today were looking at Hibernian...

Kevin Nisbet

Thirteen goals in 28 appearances so far this season for the former Partick Thistle, Raith Rovers and Dunfermline Athletic striker, most eyes will be on him at Hampden as Hibs underline their status as pre-match (and tournament) favourites. It's not just goalscoring that has set Nisbet apart this campaign, though, as his general play has also been excellent for the most part. A duel threat in attack, St Johnstone must seek to nullify him if they're to have much of a chance.

Martin Boyle

Whether he's out on the wing, operating alongside Nisbet in attack or leaning on his work-rate as a fine two-way player at the wing-back position, Boyle's pace, explosive directness and killer instinct in the final third make him the kind of x-factor any opponent struggles to subdue. Even when he's not having a great game he can take the ball from point A to point B in the blinking of an eye and is someone who terrifies defenders throughout.

Paul Hanlon

Hibs got themselves a clean sheet at the weekend as they halted a run of four successive matches in which they've conceded a goal, a sequence which included allowing five across consecutive home games to Ross County and Livingston. The defence hasn't been as solid as it appeared early in the season, when it was an undoubted strength of Jack Ross' side. They'll be looking to take the momentum from the Kilmarnock match and ensure there are no further slip-ups at Hampden. Hanlon will lead the unit at the weekend and a big performance from the 31-year-old (it's his birthday today) will go a long way.
