Hibernian begin their campaign the following day against Stirling Albion at Forthbank while BT Sport will show St Mirren v Dunfermline Athletic on the Sunday.
The eight group winners and four best runners-up will be joined in the last 16 by Celtic, Rangers, Kilmarnock and Aberdeen.
