Richardson on the mend

Peterhead were delighted to see defender Dean Richardson take in their game with Berwick Rangers last weekend – just three weeks after he suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a car.

Richardson was knocked over as he tried to hail a taxi in Glasgow and suffered a double fracture to his skull and other facial injuries but the 26-year-old is now up and about and took in the Blue Toon’s 3-1 win at Shielfield on December 28.

Balmoor boss Jim McInally said: “All the boys were delighted to see Dean at the game. It gave them and him a real lift. It is still too early to say when he will be back playing but we are looking forward to him bringing us more luck in games for just now.”
