Airdrie manager Gary Bollan had his first look at full back Chris O’Neill in a reserve game last week after 5 months out injured and he was impressed. The 18 year old has been absent since before Bollan took over at the Diamonds and O’Neill could be set for a quick return to first team action after his groin problem eased.
Bollan said: “People have been telling me since I came in that Chris is more than decent however I had not seen him in action due to his injury. Now that I have I have to say that I liked what I saw and he will be in my thoughts very soon.”
“This weekend may be too soon but he will be playing for us again come April.”
