Brechin City boss Jim Weir praised the form of midfielder Kevin Byers after a fine showing in the Glebe Park side’s 5-2 win over Annan Athletic in a replay on Tuesday night to win through to face Queen of the South on Saturday.
Byers curled home a fine shot to put Brechin 4-1 up just before half time to leave manager Weir saying, “Kevin Byers is in our team due to the effort he has put into training during my time at the club. He is a creative player and a real goal threat and he showed that in the manner he took his goal at Annan.”
