Celtic play Maribor in the first leg of their Champions League play-off in Slovenia tonight, with the return match at Parkhead on Tuesday.
Ronny Deila’s side lost to Legia Warsaw in the third qualifying round but were handed a reprieve when it came to light that the Poles had fielded an ineligible player.
Celtic go into the match on the back of a 6-1 victory over Dundee United and face a Maribor side who beat Maccabi Tel-Aviv 3-2 on aggregate in the previous round, winning 1-0 at home and drawing the second leg 2-2 in neutral Cyprus.
Deila told the club website: “The players look fitter now and quicker and sharper in their passing and pressing, so I am sure we are going to get a much better performance than against Legia.
“As I have said many times, you have to learn from things. After the game against Legia we were disappointed. Now we have another chance and we have to show we have learnt something.
"We know what we are capable of when we play at our best level. We played well at the weekend and it was important for the team to get a good result and performance.
“I’m looking forward to the game. We have always prepared for two matches in Europe, whether it was the Europa League or Champions League. It’s a big challenge and a big opportunity."
