Celtic will be unseeded when the draw for the third qualifying round of the Champions League is made on Thursday July 16, with the ties due to be played on July 27/28 and August 3/4.
The Parkhead club will face one of Zenit St Petersburg, Ajax, Fenerbahce, Dynamo Kiev or Sporting Braga while the likes of Sevilla, Werder Bremen and Tottenham lie in wait in the play-offs.
Last season Celtic knocked out Dynamo Moscow in the third qualifying round but lost out to Arsenal in the next round and dropped into the Europa League as a result.
Meanwhile, Rangers are likely to be among the third pot of seeds when the draw for the group stage of the Champions League is made on Thursday August 26.
