A team of youngsters from Queen’s Park are in line for a coaching masterclass from Valencia’s assistant manager Ian Cathro.
The Hampden side are participating for the sixth year running in the EU-funded Leonardo da Vinci project, which sees their U20 side spend two weeks on a training and education programme.
The young Spiders have based themselves in Valencia and will play their U20s, with Cathro also agreeing to take charge of a coaching session for his fellow Scots.
Queen’s Park Head of Youth David McCallum (pictured) said: “It is terrific that our club have managed to secure our place on the da Vinci programme again.
“It really plays a huge part in the development of our players when you consider that Blair Spittal was here two years ago and scored twice against Valencia and Andrew Robertson was with us three years ago in Turkey.
“People talk about the rise and rise of Andrew and I think that what Ian has done is comparable. It will be a terrific experience for our players to have the chance to work with the assistant manager of a huge club like Valencia.”
