Ross County manager Jim McIntyre has signed former Barnsley midfielder Martin Woods.
The Staggies have agreed a deal with the 28-year-old free agent until the end of January, with a view to extending his contract.
Woods, capped by Scotland at U21 level, began his career at Leeds and has also had spells with Sunderland, Rotherham United and Doncaster Rovers, plus loan stints at Hartlepool United and Yeovil Town. He was released by Barnsley in May.
McIntyre told the club website: "I'm delighted Martin has agreed to join the club. He's a great talent and has a fantastic left foot."
Ross County are bottom of the Premiership but have taken four points from their last two matches. Their next game is against Celtic at the Global Energy Stadium on Saturday October 18, live on Sky Sports at 12.45pm.
