Craig hails fighting spirit

St Mirren boss Tommy Craig praised the spirit of his side as they battled back from two down to draw 2-2 at Aberdeen on Tuesday night.

A Callum Ball goal and a late Kenny McLean penalty earned the Buddies a point after the Dons had led through Mark Reynolds and Peter Pawlett.

Craig said: "The point is important because it carries on from having beaten Partick Thistle and having lost very, very narrowly to Celtic. It tells everybody that there's nothing wrong with the spirit and camaraderie within the camp.

"We've got St Johnstone on Saturday which is a big game for us because, if we want to see the full value of this point, we have to take something from that game."

Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes said: "We were going for four straight wins and I think for the most part we played well enough to have done that. We've passed up an opportunity and passed up two points that should have been ours.”
