Ross County striker Steven Craig is getting the chance to follow in his dad’s footsteps and score goals for Partick Thistle after agreeing to join the Jags on loan until January 28.
The 31-year-old, who started his career at Falkirk, had spells at Motherwell, Aberdeen, Dundee and Livingston before joining County in 2008.
Craig has scored 29 times for the Dingwall men during his time there with one of his goals paving the way for the 2-0 Scottish Cup semi-final success over Celtic in 2010.
A lengthy suspension following a red card against Livingston last season saw Craig drop down the pecking order in Dingwall and he had yet to be involved in a game this season.
Thistle boss Jackie McNamara beamed, “I feel that we needed a bit more experience up front and Steven will help add that. He is very good in helping the ball to stick up front and he’ll help us keep possession of the ball.”
Steven’s father Joe was a fans favourite at Firhill where he played from 1972 to 1976 before joining Celtic for a reported £60,000 after hitting 67 goals in Thistle colours.
