Crease decides to step down

Berwick boss ends fourth spell in charge

Berwick Rangers boss Jimmy Crease decided to call time on his fourth spell in charge of Shielfield yesterday and handed in his resignation in the wake of his side’s 4-0 defeat by Highland League Deveronvale in the Scottish Cup at the weekend.

Jimmy Crease (right) Ian LittleCrease aid, “It was a terrible result and a terrible performance and I fell it is the right thing to do. This has been my fourth spell as a manager here, and it will be my last, and to be honest I have enjoyed every time but I feel it is time to give someone else the chance to bring success here.”

Assistant Manager Ian Little will take over on a temporary basis from Crease, who also holds a Director’s position at the Borderers, with the 61 year old keen to stress that there has been no fall out with the Boardroom.

Crease said, “The directors have backed me well since I came back as manager a couple of years ago and I would like to thank the Chairman Brian Porteous and the other Directors for their support over this and other issues at this time.”

A Directors position remains open for Crease at the club , however the former boss will let the dust settle before confirming if he will continue in that role as he advised, “I will give it a few weeks as however comes in as the new manager may not want me looking over their shoulder.”
