Dens delight for Hartley

Dundee boss Paul Hartley was thrilled to lead Dundee back into the top flight of Scottish football after a dramatic final day.

Dundee boss Paul Hartley was thrilled to lead Dundee back into the top flight of Scottish football after a dramatic final day.

The Dark Blues held on to beat Ian Murray's Dumbarton 2-1 at Dens Park but, with Hamilton Accies 10-2 up against Morton, an equaliser would have seen the Championship title party switch to New Douglas Park.

Former Alloa manager Hartley, who is celebrating a third successive promotion, said: "It was nervy towards the end but we got the job done and all credit to the players for that.

"It's a great achievement and it's where the club belongs - in the top flight. I'm really delighted for the board in terms of the investors.

"There's a lot of hard work to be done here and we're back to work on Monday. We've got a job now to try to make this club better on and off the park."
