Hibernian beat Hearts 2-0 at a sold-out Easter Road on Friday night to move to within a point of third-placed Aberdeen.
After a first half of few chances, Scott Allan fired Neil Lennon's side in front just before the hour mark with a superb finish from outside the box and Jamie Maclaren sealed the victory 10 minutes from the end in front of 20,166 fans.
The result means Hibs have now won five Edinburgh derbies in a row at Easter Road while Hearts stay sixth in the Ladbrokes Premiership table.
