The SPFL Development League begins this evening, with last season's U20 champions Celtic kicking off their campaign against St Mirren and runners-up Rangers away to Partick Thistle.
There are 17 teams in the top tier of the Development League - the 12 Premiership clubs plus Hearts, Hibernian, Falkirk, Rangers and Dunfermline. They will play each other on a home and away basis for a total of 32 matches.
Eligible players are those born on or after 1.1.95 but a maximum of five players of any age are permitted in the matchday squad of 18.
The Development League East, involving nine clubs, and the West Section, which comprises eight clubs, begin on Monday September 1.
