Partick Thistle’s veteran striker Simon Donnelly, who turns 36 next Wednesday, continued his comeback from a back injury by featuring for an hour against Dumbarton in a reserve match that the Sons won 3-2 on Tuesday evening.
Donnelly came off the bench to score for the Jags in their 3-1 Scottish Cup win at Stirling on Saturday with manager Ian McCall now hoping that former Celtic and Sheffield Wednesday player is available for a starting slot when the sides meet on league business this weekend.
