Queen of the South midfielder Danny Carmichael returned from injury to set up the winner in his first pre-season friendly on Wednesday.
The 24-year-old had not featured for the Doonhamers until their closed door game with Gateshead due to a hamstring problem but his assist led to new signing John Baird scoring the only goal.
Palmerston boss Jim McIntyre said: “It is great to have Danny back as we are low on numbers due to injuries, with Mark Kerr, Stephen McKenna and Paul Burns all out with knocks.”
