It has been confirmed that Raith Rovers defender Dougie Hill suffered a foot injury normally associated with high speed car accidents and severe falls during Tuesday night’s Reserve League Cup Final against Dunfermline Athletic.
Hill broke an ankle as well as fracturing a Talus bone when he collided with two other players as play entered injury time at the end of the match. His ankle has now been reset and has been placed in a plaster cast.
The evening had started well for the 25 year old former Alloa man when he opened the scoring, however to compound things a penalty was awarded in the incident where he was injured and Dunfermline ran out 5-3 winners.
The game was held up for eight minutes to allow Hill to get treatment and an ambulance arrived ten minutes after that to take Hill to hospital.
