New Morton boss Jim Duffy is looking forward to life in League 1 but will have to do without his No2 at Clyde, Chic Charnley.
He said: “I am delighted to be back in full-time football and that was one of the attractions of taking the Morton job but it would have been unfair to ask Chic to join me.
“He has a full-time job apart from working at Clyde and, such is the nature of football, I could not ask him to give that up. He was very much part of the success that Clyde enjoyed last season but I will be working with the existing back-room team at Cappielow.”
Former Scotland midfielder David Hopkin, who had a brief spell as caretaker manager last season, will be involved with Duffy and the first-team squad.
