Duffy: That was the best yet

Morton manager Jim Duffy was delighted with his side’s performance as they beat title favourites Dunfermline 2-1 at Cappielow on Saturday.

Morton manager Jim Duffy was delighted with his side’s performance as they beat title favourites Dunfermline Athletic 2-1 at Cappielow on Saturday.

Goals from on-loan Aberdeen forward Declan McManus and ex-Inverness CT player Conor Pepper lifted the Greenock side to second place in the League 1 table.

Duffy, whose team now face second-bottom Stenhousemuir at Ochilview on Saturday, said: “That was our best performance over 90 minutes this season.

“We scored two excellent goals and created a lot of chances while our goalkeeper had very little to do. That’s three home league wins in a row now and it’s good to send the fans home happy.”
