Dumbarton have launched their new kit for next season and two very important periods in the Sons history are acknowledged in the outfits.
The Sons will move to a white top with a gold and black band across the chest which is reminiscent of the tops worn in the mid 1970’s.
Dumbarton were a top flight side in the old style First Division and they also reached the Scottish Cup semi-final in 1976 where they went down 3-0 with a certain Walter Smith scoring an own goal.
The new tops will also carry two stars to mark their success as Champions of Scotland back in 1890–91 and 1891–92.
The club’s Commercial director Alan Findlay said, “The new strip is a return to what most fans see are our traditional look and our most successful recent period. The two stars is a great way to doft our hat to an even earlier part of our history.”
