Dundee clinched the Scottish Championship title with a 2-1 win over Dumbarton in front of 10,718 fans at Dens Park on Saturday.
Christian Nade and Peter MacDonald scored before the break but Scott Agnew pulled one back with a penalty midway through the second half to ensure a nervy finish.
If Dundee had conceded again then Hamilton Accies would have pipped them on goals scored after an incredible 10-2 victory against Morton at New Douglas Park.
It is the first time since Rangers defeated Raith Rovers by the same score in December 1967 that a team have scored 10 goals in a league game in Scotland.
Mickael Antoine-Curier found the net four times and Tony Andreu hit a first-half hat-trick, one a penalty. Louis Longridge and Michael Devlin were also on target, with Stuart Findlay putting through his own goal. Dougie Imrie got both of Morton's goals.
Accies go into the play-offs and will face the winners of the Falkirk v Queen of the South tie.
Falkirk finished in third spot after beating Alloa 3-1. Mark Beck grabbed a double, with Craig Sibbald also on target. Kevin Cawley replied for the visitors.
Queen of the South claimed a 1-1 draw away to Cowdenbeath thanks to a stoppage-time equaliser from Bob McHugh. Kane Hemmings struck for the Blue Brazil with 14 minutes left and that dropped Alloa into the relegation play-off place until that late leveller saw Barry Smith's team escape and it is Cowdenbeath who play Ayr United on Wednesday.
Livingston overcame an early red card for Craig Sives to beat Raith Rovers 2-0 at the Energy Assets Arena with goals from Danny Mullen and Marc McNulty.
