Dundee United Airdrieonians William Hill Championship

Dundee United seal the title

Jim Goodwin's side secure Premiership return

Dundee United clinched the cinch Championship title with a 0-0 draw against Airdrieonians at the Excelsior Stadium on Friday evening.

The Tannadice club were already all but promoted given their six-point lead and vastly superior goal difference over Raith Rovers and made it official tonight.

Airdrie, who will face Partick Thistle in the play-offs, had the better of the chances but couldn't find a way past keeper Jack Walton as the visitors got the point they needed.

Dundee United will receive the cinch Championship trophy after next Friday's match against Partick Thistle, which is live on BBC Scotland, kick-off 7.45pm.
