Dunfermline have made Livingston captain Jason Talbot their first signing of the summer as boss Allan Johnston prepares for 2015/16.
The 29-year-old had been at the Energy Assets Arena since moving north from Port Vale in 2008 and helped keep Mark Burchill's team in the Championship last season.
Pars coach John Potter told the club website: "Jason is tough, strong and experienced. For his size he is very good in the air and is the natural defender we were missing last year. He is very good in one-on-ones and has a toughness and aggressiveness to his game.”
Talbot added: “Dunfermline is a massive club with a lot of history - the potential there to do something special is phenomenal and I want to be part of that.”
