As Scotland prepare to face Holland at Hampden on Wednesday night, we recall some of the Dutch influence in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League since the SPL began in 1998...

Manager Dick Advocaat guided Rangers to the title in 1998/99 and 1999/00 and the former Holland boss brought many of his fellow countrymen to Ibrox.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst, Artur Numan (pictured), Ronald de Boer, Michael Mols, Bert Konterman and Fernando Ricksen all played their part while Frank de Boer and Ronald Waterreus were later signed by Alex McLeish.

Celtic defender Glenn Loovens won his first Holland cap in Saturday's friendly success against Japan while countrymen Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink, Bobby Petta, Regi Blinker and Evander Sno have also played for the Parkhead club.

Aberdeen's former Dutch contingent includes Sven Baas, Dave Bus, Dyron Daal, Jeffrey de Visscher, Ferne Snoyl and Karim Touzani while striker Mark de Vries has played Clydesdale Bank Premier League football for Dundee United and Hearts.

Dutch duo Shelton Martis and Humphrey Rudge featured for Hibernian while Benito Kemble turned out for Motherwell and St Johnstone. Keeper Sieb Dijkstra played SPL football for Dundee United, having previously been with Motherwell.

Dunfermline had a number of Dutch players on their books during their time in the SPL - among them Andre Karnebeek, Dorus de Vries, Marco Ruitenbeek, Jack de Gier, Rob Matthaei, Marinus Dijkhuizen and Michel Doesburg.

Gerard Aafjes, Tim Krul and Jeroen Lambers are footballers from Holland who have played for Falkirk while Maikel Renfurm was with St Mirren and Frank van Eijs is an ex-Dundee defender.
