Elgin bring in trio

Elgin City manager Barry Wilson has signed three players for next season, with goalkeeper John Gibson leading the way by making his loan move from Dundee a permanent switch.

Elgin City manager Barry Wilson has signed three players for next season, with goalkeeper John Gibson leading the way by making his loan move from Dundee a permanent switch.

Gibson has agreed to a third stint at Borough Briggs after a two-year deal was agreed following his release from Dens Park and he will be joined by defenders Matthew Cooper and Gordon Finlayson.

Cooper has also agreed a two-year deal after being released by Inverness CT, with Finlayson already well known to Wilson as he spent part of last season on loan from Ross County.

Former Caley Thistle boss John Robertson tipped off Wilson about Cooper, with the Elgin manager saying: “John told me to have a look at him and I am glad that he did. He can play in a number of different positions and is one for the future.

“We know John and Gordon already and are delighted to have them here permanently.”

Wilson is also hoping to keep hold of midfielder Brian Cameron and striker Craig Gunn after opening talks with the duo this week.
