Former Rangers and Annan Athletic defender Andy Mitchell, who had attracted interest from both Morton and Falkirk, has signed for English Conference Premier side Southport.
The 22 year old Northern Irishman had started his career at Manchester City before heading Rangers in May 2010 and he played a dozen times for the Ibrox side’s first team before joining Annan on loan last September.
That move became a permanent switch in January and the defender starred as the Galabank men reached the play-offs however he has now joined the Merseyrail Community Stadium club.
