Farningham begins to reshape Montrose

Nine leave Links Park, deals offered to six

Montrose Manager, Ray FarninghamThird Division Montrose have released seven players after recently appointed manager Ray Farningham began to re-shape his Links Park squad. Leaving are goalkeeper Ramiro Gonzalez as well as last season’s top goalscorer Paul Tosh, Nicky Smith, Conor Thomson, Fraser Milligan and Chris Hegarty.

There are two other departures as club captain Hugh Davidson has already announced his retirement from the game after more than 5 years as a Gable Endie, and Ross McCord has returned to Dundee United after a season long loan.

Farningham has tied up Sean Crighton and Jonathan Crawford on new one year contracts and deals have been offered to Terry Masson, Martin Boyle, Aaron Sinclair, Douglas Cameron, Daryl Nicol and Gordon Pope, however defender Pope is unlikely to take up the offer of a new contract as he wants to play closer to his Ayrshire home.

Forward Sean Pierce who signed as an amateur in March from Port Glasgow Juniors has been offered a professional contract.
