1998/99 - Dunfermline
Promoted as runners-up to St Mirren in their first season back in Division One in 1999/00.
1999/00 - Aberdeen
No relegation as the league was expanded to 12 clubs for 2000/01.
2000/01 - St Mirren
Finished eighth in the First Division in 2001/02.
2001/02 - St Johnstone
Third place in Division One in 2002/03.
2002/03 - Motherwell
No relegation as First Division champions Falkirk did not have an SPL compliant stadium.
2003/04 - Partick Thistle
Finished ninth in Division One and were relegated for the second year in a row. Now back in the First Division but have yet to return to the top flight.
2004/05 - Dundee
Had to settle for seventh place in Division One in 2005/06 and promotion has eluded them since.
2005/06 - Livingston
Finished sixth in Division One in 2006/07 - they are another club who have not returned to the SPL.
2006/07 - Dunfermline
Came fifth in Division One in 2007/08 but took the title last month and are back for 2011/12.
2007/08 - Gretna
Were in administration when relegated and went into liquidation in August 2008.
2008/09 - Inverness CT
Bounced straight back as runaway Division One champions despite a slow start to the season.
2009/10 - Falkirk
Third place in the First Division in 2010/11 behind Dunfermline and Raith Rovers.
2010/11 - Hamilton Accies
Managed three seasons in the SPL but finished fourth in Division One in 2011/12.
