Ayr United have snapped up former Motherwell defender David Ferguson ahead of Friday night's Betfred Cup tie with Kilmarnock at Somerset Park.
The 21-year-old left Fir Park at the end of the season, having previously played on loan for Alloa Athletic, Annan Athletic and Airdrieonians.
Ayr boss Ian McCall has already brought in Chris Higgins (Queen of the South), Michael Moffat (Dunfermline Athletic), Andy Geggan (Dunfermline Athletic), Craig Moore (Motherwell) and Craig Reid (Peterhead).
