Stevie Mallan scored twice and Rory Loy and Lewis Morgan were also on target for Jack Ross' team, in addition to a Declan McManus own goal, as Rovers dropped to ninth place.

Ayr United look set for the drop after losing 4-0 to champions Hibernian at Somerset Park. Jason Cummings bagged a double for the visitors, with Martin Boyle and James Keatings also scoring for Hibs.

Dumbarton are almost safe after drawing 2-2 with Dundee United at Tannadice. Robert Thomson and Lewis Vaughan struck for the Sons after Tony Andreu's opener but Thomas Mikkelsen earned United a point.

Falkirk stay second despite being held to a 2-2 home draw by Queen of the South. Stephen Dobbie netted twice for Queens, with Nathan Austin and Aaron Muirhead (penalty) scoring for the Bairns.

Dunfermline Athletic defeated Morton 3-1 at East End Park with goals from Nicky Clark, Michael Moffat and Rhys McCabe. Lawrence Shankland replied for the visitors.
