Flynn to depart Falkirk

Falkirk defender Jonny Flynn will be leaving in the summer to return to his native Northern Ireland.

Falkirk defender Jonny Flynn will be leaving in the summer to return to his native Northern Ireland.

The 24-year-old has signed a pre-contract deal with Cliftonville as he wants to return back over the Irish Sea for family reasons.

Flynn started his career at Ballymena United before heading for a two-year spell at Blackburn Rovers that began in 2008.
He headed north to Ross County and helped them win the First Division before joining Falkirk in the summer of 2012.

Technical Director Alex Smith said: “We can fully understand Jonny’s reasons for wanting to leave. However, he is still available until the end of the season and I am sure he will continue to give his all between now and then.”
