Queen's Park won the Scottish Amateur Cup for the first time in 45 years after they came from behind to defeat Hurlford Thistle 3-1.

Thistle's Paul Gilroy stepped in to take the ball round Craig Chamberlain and shoot home into an unguarded net after only 3 minutes with the Hampden side getting level in 21 minutes when Hurlford's shot-stopper Craig Richmond thumped a passback against the in-rushing Ian Watt six yards out and could only watch as the ball flew into the net.

Ray Montgomerie thumped home a 25 yard free kick just before an hour had been played to put the Spiders' ahead and in 65 minutes Queen's Park doubled their lead. Midfielder Gavin Lachlan picked up a Tom Currie clearance on the left hand side of the box and curled home a ferocious right foot shot that Richmond could only help into the net.
