James Fowler has joined Queen of the South in a player/coach role after ending his long association with Kilmarnock.
The 33-year-old, who can play in defence or midfield, had been at Rugby Park since the 1990s and had a brief spell on loan at Cowdenbeath last season.
A Palmerston spokesman said: "James has been working with Jim McIntyre and the squad this week and we are delighted to have him on board. He has been working his way through his coaching badges over the last few years."
