Partick Thistle U20 coach Scott MacKenzie has praised Scotland squad goalkeeper Scott Fox for stepping in and playing for the Firhill youngsters against Ross County.
The young Jags overcame the loss of Jordan Leyden to an early red card to defeat the Dingwall side 1-0, with Fox keeping a clean sheet in his first game since being injured in January.
Fox has returned to full fitness but cannot dislodge Paul Gallacher from his starting role in the first team and MacKenzie said: “Any goalkeeper as good as Scott Fox would help the team. He has not played in a while and he wanted a game.
“He came in and talked the young boys in the team through the game. He has confidence and is good at organising the back line - he did that, as well as making a couple saves that kept us in the game.”
