Entry will be free to tonight’s re-arranged Championship match between Morton and Queen of the South at Cappielow with the family of supporter Andrew Kemp, who died at Saturday’s meeting between the clubs, agreeing that a minute’s applause should be held before kick-off.
Whilst it is free entry to fans who were there at the weekend, and to others who may wish to attend, supporters are being asked to make a donation to the Inverclyde Group of St Andrews First Aid in recognition of the care they gave to Mr Kemp on Saturday.
The club’s Chief Executive Gillian Donaldson said: “We appreciate that there may be some supporters who attend this evening who were not at the original fixture. With this in mind, there will be the opportunity for them to make a donation in lieu of the normal admission price at the turnstiles inside the ground.”
Following consultation with the family, all funds raised from donations on the night will go towards St Andrews First Aid (Inverclyde Group) who cared for Mr Kemp. St Andrews First Aid provide vital first aid provision at all of our home matches, but in addition they also provide important medical care at concerts, gala days and numerous community events throughout Inverclyde on a voluntary basis.”
Donaldson added: “Donations will also be welcomed from supporters who attended the match on Saturday but would like to show their appreciation for this valuable service.”
“Prior to kick off at 7.30pm, and as agreed with the family of Mr Kemp, there will be a minute’s applause as a mark of respect.”
