In Group B, Dundee United defeated SPFL newcomers Kelty Hearts 1-0 at Central Park with a goal from Lawrence Shankland 13 minutes from time.
In Group E, Hamilton Accies beat Edinburgh City 1-0 at Ainslie Park thanks to a goal from Callum Smith midway through the first half.
