Ayr United have moved recent signing Brian Gilmour from amateur to professional terms with the 26-year-old, who started his career with Rangers in 2003, signing on until May 2015.
The former Clyde and Queen of the South player, who also had spells Finnish side FC Haka and Lincoln City as well as a short spell with Stenhousemuir in 2011, returned home to his Ayrshire roots in October from Icelandic Second Division side Knattspyrnufelag Akureyrar.
Somerset Park Player/Manager Mark Roberts said: “Brian is a local boy and he will combine playing for us with a role in our community programme. He has had a positive impact on our squad as he is a quality player.”
“We had a disappointing result at Stranraer at the weekend but the performance was not as bad as the 4-0 score-line would indicate. Brain will help us push for the play-offs this season and next.”
