The 22-year-old was previously with Motherwell, Brighton and Notts County and has been capped by Northern Ireland at U21 level.
Co-manager David McCracken, whose side go to Peterhead on Saturday, told the club website: "We have spoken with a number of people about Ben and every single one of them couldn’t have been more positive about his ability and character."
