Hamilton Academical beat holders Raith Rovers 1-0 at the Falkirk Stadium to win the SPFL Trust Trophy in front of 5,566 fans on Sunday afternoon
The only goal came on the half-hour mark when full-back Reghan Tumilty – a winner with Raith a year ago – fired the ball past Jamie MacDonald.
Hamilton had Dan O'Reilly sent off early in the second half and Ian Murray's men piled on the pressure but John Rankin's side held firm, with goalkeeper Ryan Fulton named man of the match.
Neil Doncaster, chief executive of the SPFL, said: “On behalf of the SPFL I would like to congratulate everyone connected with Hamilton Academical on winning the SPFL Trust Trophy Final.
“The club deserve huge credit for today’s victory, which comes 30 years after they last lifted this trophy in season 1992/93.
“We would also like to send our commiserations to Raith Rovers, who have been such a formidable opponent in this competition in recent years.
“Today’s attendance of 5,566 is the largest for an SPFL Trust Trophy Final since season 2016/17, and a fitting end to another successful competition.”
