Forfar Athletic 2-5 Hamilton Accies

Finnie (83)
Hamilton Accies proved to be too strong for Forfar in the Final of the SFL Under 19 Youth League Cup with the New Douglas Park side winning the trophy 5-2 at the Loons’ home of Station Park.
In an entertaining match three players were on the brink of hat-tricks just after half-time with Eamonn Brophy being the first to make his mark as he headed home a Lee Kilday cross on 19 minutes.
It looked like it was game over when it was 3-0 10 minutes later after Andy Ryan, who has played in the Hamilton first team in a Challenge Cup Final, had a shot deflected in.
Ryan then made the difference between the sides three goals when he shot home from 16 yards from a long throw in from Ryan Finnie.
Forfar refused to lie down and Kerr Hay headed home however Brophy made it 4-1 at half-time with a right foot shot.
The Loons rose again and Hay brought them back into things 3 minutes after the interval with a left foot effort.
Forfar’s hopes were finally extinguished in wicked fashion 7 minutes from time when Finnie sent in a shot that took a wicked deflection on its way into goal.
