Hartley lands former Jambo

Alloa boss brings in Simmons

Stephen SimmonsAlloa Athletic Manager Paul Hartley has swooped to sign a former team-mate from his playing days at Hearts with midfielder Stephen Simmons agreeing to join the Wasps after a season with Queen of the South.

The 30-year-old began his career at Tynecastle in 1998 and featured in over 100 games for the Edinburgh side before moving to Dunfermline Athletic in 2006. Simmons spent season 2008/09 at Palmerston before heading east again to join Raith Rovers where he stayed for 3 years before becoming a second time around Doonhamer.

Hartley said, “Stephen is a very experienced player who will add a lot of strength to our midfield. I have known him from my time at Hearts and I am delighted to bring him here.”
