Michael Higdon grabbed a hat-trick as Motherwell came from behind to beat Hibernian 4-3 at Fir Park on Wednesday to close the gap on second-placed Rangers to just three points.

Isaiah Osbourne gave Hibs an interval lead but Higdon's penalty and a Jamie Murphy goal turned the game round. Matt Doherty made it 2-2 but Higdon struck a spectacular overhead kick (pictured) and converted another penalty before Ivan Sproule pulled one back.

Leaders Celtic extended their advantage at the top of the table to 20 points with a 2-0 home win over bottom club Dunfermline. Charlie Mulgrew broke the deadlock with a fine goal and Pars keeper Chris Smith kept the hosts at bay until James Forrest sealed a 16th straight SPL triumph.
