Motherwell have made another move in the transfer market by snapping up former Reading midfielder Tom Hateley - a previous captain of their youth team.
The 19-year-old is the son of ex-England and Rangers striker Mark and has signed a one-year contract, with the option of another 12 months at Fir Park.
New manager Jim Gannon has already recruited Giles Coke (Northampton), Chris Humphrey (Shrewsbury Town), Steve Jennings (Tranmere) and John Ruddy (Everton, loan) in addition to Inverness CT keeper Michael Fraser, who signed a pre-contract agreement in January.
Meanwhile, Hamilton have been busy adding to their squad on the eve of the season. Midfielder John Paul Kissock, 19, has moved north after being released by Everton while full-back Luis Rubiales joins from Alicante. Left-back Kevin Welsh comes in from Harestanes AFC in Kirkintilloch.
