There were plenty of talking points on the opening weekend of the SPFL season, with a goalscoring goalie, youngsters making their mark and a happy anniversary.
Here are some of the players and teams who caught the eye on Saturday and Sunday:
Mark Oxley
The Hibernian keeper, on loan from Hull, scored with a huge clearance as Alan Stubbs’ side started the Championship season with a 2-1 win over Livingston at Easter Road.
Lee Erwin
The 20-year-old striker marked his SPFL debut for Motherwell by scoring the only goal in Saturday’s 1-0 win against St Mirren at Fir Park.
Marvin Andrews
The 38-year-old former Rangers and Trinidad defender turned in a man-of-the-match display as a trialist for Elgin City in their 1-0 victory over East Fife.
Dundee United
Jackie McNamara’s side are the early leaders in the Scottish Premiership after a stylish 3-0 win over an Aberdeen team tipped by the bookies to finish second this season.
Osman Sow
The Swedish striker, with Crystal Palace last season, grabbed an injury-time winner as Hearts beat Rangers 2-1 at Ibrox, as Ally McCoist’s men lost their first league game since April 2013.
Inverness Caley Thistle
Marked the 20th anniversary of their first senior game – a 2-0 League Cup win at East Stirlingshire on 09/08/94 - by beating Hamilton Accies 2-0 in their Premiership opener.
Rory McAllister
Scotland’s top scorer from last season has just extended his contract with Peterhead until 2017 and celebrated by netting a late equaliser in the 1-1 draw with Stirling Albion.
Ayr youngsters
Teenagers Peter McGill and Alan Forrest, both only 17, shone as Ayr United beat Morton 1-0 at Somerset Park thanks to a late goal from Ryan Donnelly.
Botti Bia-Bi
The 18-year-old striker came off the bench to earn Falkirk a 2-2 draw at Cowdenbeath with his first league goal for the Bairns as Peter Houston’s men twice hit back to take a point.
Montrose
The Links Park side haven’t been out of the bottom division since the four-league set-up was introduced in 1994/95 but are top of League 2 thanks to a 4-1 win over East Stirlingshire.
