Hearts beat Hibernian 2-1 in Sunday's Edinburgh derby at Tynecastle to make it two wins out of two in the Scottish Championship.

Hibs had the chance to take a first-half lead when keeper Jack Hamilton, recalled from a loan spell at Stenhousemuir, was judged to have fouled Danny Handling but Liam Craig sent the spot-kick wide.

Chances were generally scarce in a game watched by a capacity crowd of 17,280 but Sam Nicholson broke the deadlock with a terrific 25-yard drive in 76 minutes.

Prince Buaben converted a penalty three minutes later after Scott Robertson had received a second yellow card for bringing down the midfielder.

Hearts had striker Osman Sow sent off and Farid El Alagui pulled one back with a superb goal but Robbie Neilson's team held on to join Queen of the South and Raith Rovers on six points.
