Hibernian in pole position

Teenager Jason Cummings grabbed a double as Hibernian beat Hamilton Accies 2-0 in the first leg of the Premiership play-off final at New Douglas Park on Wednesday night.

Teenager Jason Cummings grabbed a double as Hibernian beat Hamilton Accies 2-0 in the first leg of the Premiership play-off final at New Douglas Park on Wednesday night.

Cummings, leading scorer in the SPFL U20 League this season, smashed a stunning 25-yard drive high past Kevin Cuthbert six minutes before the interval.

Ben Williams made an important save to deny Mickael Antoine-Curier an equaliser before Cummings struck again early in the second half, his shot having crossed the line before Ziggy Gordon could clear.

It was only a second victory since January for Terry Butcher's men but it puts them in a commanding position ahead of Sunday's second leg at Easter Road, live on BT Sport at 3.30pm.
